Microsoft Store / Xbox App not working
Is your Microsoft Store / Xbox App not working?
MS Store
Open Terminal in administrator mode, e.g. Right-Click on the Start Menu button (Win), and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Terminal (Admin) and run the following commands:
ctfmon
wsresetIf these don't help, you can try the wsreset -i command, which reinstalls the MS store app. it must be left running for at least 20 minutes.
Xbox
In case you have issues with the Xbox app, you can try the following solutions:
Solution 1:
- Go to this MS page and should start automatically download the Xbox app
- Execute it and click on the
Installbutton - Once finished, launch Xbox
- Press
Browse app - At the top left corner, click on
Sign inand choose Settings - Go to
App - Install missing dependencies
Solution 2
If the updating is done, and Xbox login is still not working, go through these steps:
- Update Revision Tool
- Go to the Microsoft Store
- Enter

Getbutton to start downloading - Once the installation is done, press on the
Installbutton
Same can be done for other Xbox apps: 9MWPM2CQNLHN (Gaming Service), 9WZDNCRD1HKW (Xbox Identity Provider).
Solution 3
- Right-click on the Start Menu button (or Win + R on your keyboard) and open PowerShell or Terminal in administrator mode,
- Run this command:
Get-CimInstance -Namespace "Root\cimv2\mdm\dmmap" -ClassName "MDM_EnterpriseModernAppManagement_AppManagement01" | Invoke-CimMethod -MethodName UpdateScanMethod - After this, go inside the Store, and check for app updates.
On the older Store UI you can do it by:
- Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the window
- Click
Downloads and updatesOn the newer Store, you can do it by going inside the Library page.
If you have updates, the Store should start installing them automatically. If not, click Get Updates.
